Silky Terriers, originally called the Sydney Silky or the Australian Silky Terrier were created to be small apartment sized dogs who would be excellent ratters and snake killers. Pint sized, they are a bit larger than a Yorkshire Terrier and far more sturdy with less health issues. The breed was created by breeding Yorkshire and Australian Terriers. There is also Skye Terrier and Dandy Dinmont Terrier in the line. They have hair, rather than fur, so are great for dog lovers with allergies. |
